Our volunteers are a critical part of our programs and our success. The volunteers at our shelter work directly with the animals. The Shelter started offering Volunteer Orientation in 2013. In 2015, we made volunteer orientation mandatory for all volunteers. Volunteer orientation is held every Saturday at the Shelter at 11am. Our volunteers also assist us in continuing our educational presentations in local schools and our pet therapy programs in area nursing homes. It is impossible to express how important these volunteers are to our continued work.

We have many volunteers that come in the shelter to walk the dogs, spend time one on one with the cats, bathe puppies, or simply give the animals in the shelter extra love and attention. Some of these volunteers come in for an hour, others spend all day; what extra time they have they give to the pets of the Stark County Humane Society.

Volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parent/legal guardian sign a waiver prior to volunteering. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian while volunteering at the shelter.

The shelter has many day to day volunteers. We would like to thank all of the volunteers. This year we have listed the group volunteers instead of individuals:
