President’s Report

With the unwavering support of our members and the community, great things continue to happen at the Stark County Humane Society. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and, if old enough, canines are heartworm tested and felines are FELV/FIV tested prior to adoption. We are open to the public seven days a week and on call 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year for sick and injured stray animals.

The Shelter now has outside play areas, air conditioning and will soon have a one- mile walking path replete with a number of "Pawtios" for our furry friends which we intend to highlight at our annual Mutt Strut on September 30, 2018. That's right! After 18 years of having this two-mile casual walk in various locations throughout Stark County, for the first time, we will be able to host the Mutt Strut at our own facility!

We are a private 501(c)(3) organization and receive no government funding. That is why the community's positive response to our Annual Fund Drive Appeal and strong support for our fall fundraiser, "A Purrfect Evening for a Howling Good Time" at the Historic Masonic Temple in Canton on September 22, 2018 are so critical to our Mission of: Speaking for Those Who Cannot Speak for Themselves.
