President’s Report

I realize not much time has gone by since the fall newsletter, but I wanted to wish you a safe and healthy holiday season and to again thank you for the support the shelter received in 2008.

I would like to take this time to emphasize the Never Too Old To Be Loved Campaign. If a new addition is on the horizon for you or your family and you will be purchasing one of our stuffed animals and a gift certificate for someone this holiday, please remember to check out all the wonderful adult dogs and cats we have available for adoption. As emphasized before, so many of these animals are already spayed/neutered and housebroken that it is quite beneficial to consider them as well. I also want to remind everyone of our holiday schedule:

The shelter will be closed to allow the shelter staff to spend some time with their families on December 24th and 25th, in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and remain closed on Friday, December 26th.

Shelter will also be closed January 1, 2009, in observance of New Years Day.

With winter upon us and what I might add has been an unusually cold and snowy fall, which may be a preview of things to come, please be sure to remember all of the outside animals. If you come across a situation that you feel may not be appropriate for an outside animal, please call the shelter. We will be glad to counsel you as well as send one of our officers to check on the situation that concerns you.

On behalf of the board of trustees, staff and myself, we would like to say what an honor it is to serve and protect the unwanted animals in our community. We are so grateful for your continued generosity and wish you all the very best this holiday season and forthcoming new year.

Board President
